Your privacy and the security of your information is very important to us. We want you to use our websites with complete confidence and we conduct our business in compliance with UK laws on privacy, data protection and security.
We have updated this policy, following a review in March 2018.
This policy explains the information we may collect and hold, what we use it for, who we share it with and your rights. It applies to all Internet Power websites.
Generally you can visit our websites without providing any personal information about yourself. We only collect the information you choose to provide to us.
Personal Information we collect
The personal information we collect includes your name and e-mail address, which you provide when completing and submitting forms on our websites to make requests for information about our services, register or pay for our services and to sign up for offers.
Other personal information that you provide on our website is clearly labelled at the time you submit it and may include other contact information, details about your business, your preferences and interests.
We also collect personal information you provide to us directly, by email, phone, mail or in person.
How we use information
We use the information that we collect to respond to your requests for information, provide our services and to support your relationship with us as our client, or contact.
We store and process information for our internal records, to fulfil services and to understand your needs, to send you our newsletters by email and mail, to contact you regarding eg new services, products, promotions and events, to plan marketing and advertising campaigns and to improve our websites.
Anything you send us, post on our site, or use with our services, such as blog postings or videos, or if others send us anything about your activities or postings, we may collect into a file specific to you. We use this information to resolve disputes and problems.
When you submit your information on our website and indicate your consent, you agree to receive marketing emails and occasionally, mail or phone calls from us.
You can expect to receive newsletters, articles and updates on marketing and business topics, promotions and offers, for our own products and services, together with related services and products from 3rd parties who we use to deliver technical services e.g. web hosting and email marketing. Occasionally this may include joint services and/or products which are provided by ourselves and carefully chosen 3rd parties for training, events and webinars.
Should you wish to discontinue receiving these emails please simply unsubscribe using the link in the email you receive. We will retain your email details in order to communicate directly and individually with you regarding our services.
If you submit your email and/or address details on our website (or directly to us) and later become a customer, we will add your details to our email, mail and phone lists at that time.
We will do so on the basis that this is permitted as a legitimate interest commercial activity under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations 2018) and for emails that this is permitted as “soft opt-in” under PECR (Privacy and E-Commerce Regulations 2003, as amended).
If you prefer not to receive these communications, please email us.
Payments and credit card details
If you pay for anything on our site using a credit or debit card, we collect the personal information needed to complete the transaction. This information includes your name, card number, and other necessary information, all of which is clearly labelled on the form you use to submit payment.
We use a third party credit card processing company to process your payment. We transfer your payment information and you authorize us to do so to this company solely for this purpose. The credit card company does not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
We do not store credit card details.
Sharing Your Information
Your information and privacy are important to us and we will not share details unless it is reasonably necessary. So we may share your information with our employees, contractors, suppliers, agents, insurers and professional advisors.
To provide services to you, we may sometimes use other businesses to perform certain specialized services such as data processing, web development, web hosting, email marketing, webinars, online events management or other technology services. If so, we may provide your personal information to those businesses, but they are not permitted to use or retain your information for any other purpose.
We do also occasionally enter into joint projects with other organisations, so that we can offer a fuller service to you. At these times it may be necessary to allow third party agents or joint venture parties access to your information to provide these services. This access is strictly limited to these specific companies and for specific purposes and activities related to marketing and promoting events such as workshops and training which we believe may be of interest to you.
We will not sell, or rent, your information to a 3rd party. However please be aware that there could be an exception to this as part of a sale, or change of control, of our business, in which case customer and contact information is an asset of the business and would be included in the sale or transfer. If so, all our customers and contacts will be notified of the change.
We may also disclose personal information to credit agencies and debt collection agencies as part of our normal commercial activities.
We may also disclose information to the government or its agencies or to regulatory or law enforcement bodies to comply with legal obligations.
Security and storing information
We take measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of your information by carefully limiting access to the database(s) in which your personal information is stored.
However, it is still possible for your private communications and other personal information to be disclosed. For example, although we use security software to protect your details, we cannot completely guarantee the security of your information, as this is simply not possible when data is transferred on the internet.
